San Leon native, Coast Guard rescue swimmer pulls boy from water
HOUSTON - Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Class Eric Barhan, a San Leon, Texas, native, was the rescue swimmer who pulled a 13-year-old boy from the 58 degree waters of the Gulf of Mexico on Monday, March 5, 2007. The boy was part of a four-person fishing group that went missing the morning of March 4. Coast Guard crews located the boy and two other bodies near the capsized boat Monday afternoon.
