WHO: U.S. Coast Guard Sector Lower Mississippi River WHAT:Joint Urban Search and Rescue Training, which consist of fire fighters, police officers and other public WHEN: April 7, 2009 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. WHERE: Coast Guard Sector Lower Mississippi River Headquarters ***MEDIA NOTE: To ensure adequate access to the training site, interested media are asked to contact Lt. Michael Block no later than 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 6.*** The exercise will consist of an inspection of all search and rescue equipment in order to ensure operational readiness. In addition to the inspection, both the Tennessee Task Force and the Coast Guard will discuss capabilities and limitations of forces, so they can jointly better serve the public during an emergency. The training will conclude with the Coast Guard deploying their flood punt boats in the Wolf River Chute and transporting Tennessee Task Force Urban Search and Rescue Teams to a designated location to simulate search and rescue operations in a flooded residential neighborhood. ### Saving Lives and Guarding the Coast Since 1790.
