Coast Guard locates four stranded boaters

NEW ORLEANS — The Coast Guard assisted in rescuing four boaters stranded in Justin's Bay near Mobile, Ala., early Tuesday morning.

Air Station New Orleans received a call from a family member at approximately 2:20 a.m. that four boaters were overdue from an outing Monday.

Air Station New Orleans launched an MH-65C Dolphin helicopter and crew and located the four overdue boaters at 3:58 a.m. The crew used the helicopter's spot light to guide two Good Samaritan boats to the stranded boaters.   The four boaters were taken aboard the boats and their personal watercraft was taken in tow.

The Coast Guard reminds all boaters to always file a float plan when boating.
