MSU Lake Charles to host Change of Command ceremony

LAKE CHARLES, La. - Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit (MSU) Lake Charles will host a Change of Command ceremony June 25, 2009. 

Lt. Cmdr. Robert Compher will relieve Cmdr. Buddy Reams during the ceremony, which will be held in the Contraband Room at the Lake Charles Civic Center at 10 a.m.


Compher is arriving from Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington D.C. and is a 1997 graduate of the United States Coast Guard Academy.  He is a native of Fort Worth, Texas, and currently resides in Lake Charles with his wife Katy and their son Luke.

   
Reams has accepted assignment as the Commanding Officer of the Cruise Ship Center of Expertise in Miami.  He has been the Commanding Officer of MSU Lake Charles since 2006.
