Video Available: Coast Guard rescues two in west Galveston Bay

HOUSTON — The Coast Guard rescued two men in west Galveston Bay after their vessel was reportedly overtaken by waves Monday.

A Coast Guard MH-65C helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Houston diverted to rescue the men after a Sector Houston watchstander receive a call from one of the men's family member shortly after 11 p.m. and reported them in distress.

The two men, who left from Hitchcock, were able to contact the family member by cell phone when the incident occured. The family member then contacted the Coast Guard. 

The men were transported by helicopter to Air Station Houston to awaiting EMS.
