Coast Guard medevacs injured master from towing vessel

 

NEW ORLEANS — The U.S. Coast Guard medevaced a man off of the towing vessel Marion Moran Jan. 20, 2010, approximately 185 miles south of Mobile, Ala.

 

 

NEW ORLEANS — The U.S. Coast Guard medevaced a man off of the towing vessel Marion Moran approximately 185 miles south of Mobile, Ala., Wednesday.

Watchstanders from Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a call at approximately 3 p.m. from a crewmember aboard the Marion Moran stating that a crewmember had broken his arm and was requesting a medevac.

Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans launched an MH-65C rescue helicopter and crew at approximately 5:15 p.m. to assist the injured crewmember, arrived on scene at approximately 8 p.m., and safely hoisted him off the vessel.

 

He was taken to Air Station New Orleans where an awaiting ambulance.
