Coast Guard responds to report of missing person

PADUCAH, Ky. - U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit Paducah responded to and is investigating the fatality of a patron onboard a Harrah’s Casino vessel.

Coast Guard MSU Paducah received a report from Harrah's Casino, at approximately 2:50 p.m., Tuesday, that James Yates, an 85 year-old man from Fulton, Ky., was unaccounted for. A Coast Guard 25-foot response boat was launched. Other responders included a Harrah's small boat and local EMS. After a search of the area, Yates was located and transferred to a local hospital by EMS personnel.

The Coast Guard is working with local, state and federal agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the cause and factors related to the incident.
