MOBILE, Ala. — The Coast Guard rescued a man who went missing on a rented jet ski in Panama City Beach, Fla., Monday.
The Coast Guard received the initial report at approximately 6 p.m., Monday, from Florida Fish and Wildlife, that a man hadn't returned his rented jet ski at the pre-arranged time.
A Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans MH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter and crew spotted the man and the jet ski at approximately 4 a.m., Tuesday. The man had run out of gas and run aground due to the strong winds. The crew hoisted the man into the rescue helicopter and transported him safely to Panama City Airport where emergency medical technicians were standing by.
