Coast Guard offers media availability concerning flood preparations

WHAT: Media are invited to discuss Coast Guard flood preparations, safety measures and the role of Disaster Area Response Teams with representatives from Coast Guard Sector Ohio Valley.

WHEN: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 9.

WHERE: Louisville Waterfront Park

Coast Guard Sector Ohio Valley is preparing for possible flooding by organizing Disaster Area Response Teams, and coordinating with other local and federal organizations for planning and preparedness. The flood potential for the Ohio Valley remains high. The magnitude of the flooding has yet to be determined, as it will depend on the amount of accumulated rainfall and melted snow.
