VIDEO: Coast Guard medevacs man near Sabine Pass

HOUSTON — A Coast Guard Air Station Houston MH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew medevaced an injured crewmember from the 700-foot motor vessel Eurogracht near Sabine Pass, Monday night.

The motor vessel Eurogracht contacted the Sector Houston-Galveston watchstanders at approximately 7:45 p.m. reporting a crewmember was injured after falling off a container.  The crewmember was reported to have fallen 18 feet. The fall reportedly resulted in a compound fracture above the crewmember's left knee.

The MH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew was diverted from a previous mission to medevac the injured crewmember.

The helicopter crew successfully hoisted the injured crewmember and safely medevaced him to The Medical Center of Southeast Texas.

The Eurogracht was enroute to Port Arthur and is homeported in Amsterdam.
