<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;"><b>MOBILE, Ala.&nbsp;</b>&mdash; The Coast Guard is assisting local agencies in searching&nbsp;for two missing men.</span></span></p>
<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">The Coast Guard received the initial report of the missing men at approximately 7 p.m. Sunday from the Alabama Marine Police, who had discovered an empty canoe.&nbsp; After determining the owner and talking with his wife, the Alabama Marine Police determined that he and his friend were missing.</span></span></p>
<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">Coast Guard Sector Mobile launched a 41-foot rescue boat and crew from Station Dauphin Island and an MH-65C Dolphin helicopter and crew from Air Station New Orleans to assist in the search.&nbsp; </span></span></p>

<p align="left"><b>MOBILE, Ala. </b>&mdash; The U.S. Coast Guard ended&nbsp;its&nbsp;search for&nbsp;the 33-foot sailing vessel, Tortuga,&nbsp;which was reported overdue by Sea Tow late Friday.&nbsp; S/V Tortuga was transiting from Mobile Bay to Panama City, Fla.&nbsp; Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island was able to make contact with&nbsp;the vessel owner and he stated he had arrived safely in Panama City.</p>
<p align="left">Coast Guard Sector&nbsp;Mobile launched an HC-144A Ocean Sentry aircraft and crew from the Aviation Training Center Mobile, Ala., after&nbsp;receiving a call Friday<span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">&nbsp;</span>from Sea Tow&nbsp;reporting&nbsp;a mariner departed Mobile Bay and was scheduled to arrive in Panama City, Friday at noon. The mariner did not report his scheduled arrival to Sea Tow.&nbsp;</p>
<p align="left">&nbsp;<br />"Float plans are important because they let your family and friends know&nbsp;how long you are going to stay out on the water and where you plan on going.&nbsp;&nbsp;All mariners&nbsp;should file a float plan with friends or family before leaving port&nbsp;and&nbsp;let them know when you have arrived at your destination," said Lt. Sue Kerver, Public Affairs Officer for the Eighth Coast Guard District.&nbsp; "Filing a float plan with friends or family, and reporting in to them when you arrive, lets everyone know you arrived safely.&nbsp;&nbsp;Float plans help&nbsp;the Coast Guard help you if you are ever in an emergency."</p>

<p align="left"><b>MOBILE, Ala. </b>&mdash; The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for&nbsp;a 33-foot sailing vessel, the Tortuga,&nbsp;in the Gulf of Mexico from Mobile Bay to Panama City, Fla., today.</p>
<p align="left">Coast Guard Sector&nbsp;Mobile received a call&nbsp;at approximately 4 p.m., Friday<span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">&nbsp;</span>from Sea Tow, reporting&nbsp;they had received a call from a mariner Thursday, stating&nbsp;he was departing Mobile Bay and was scheduled to arrive in Panama City, Friday at noon.&nbsp; The mariner did not report his scheduled arrival to Sea Tow.<br /><br />Sector&nbsp;Mobile launched an HC-144A Ocean Sentry aircraft and crew from Aviation Training Center Mobile, Ala., to search.</p>
<p align="left">An Urgent Marine Information Broadcast (UMIB) was also issued to mariners as a caution in the area.</p>

<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;"><b>PENSACOLA, Fla. &nbsp;</b>&mdash;&nbsp; The Coast Guard is investigating the cause of a diving incident in the Gulf of Mexico, Saturday.</span></span></p>
<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">Coast Guard Station Pensacola received a report of a&nbsp;diving accident at the site of the sunken&nbsp;USS Oriskany, 26 miles south of Pensacola, Saturday.&nbsp; The station launched a 41-foot rescue boat and crew to the scene and escorted&nbsp;a dive boat back to the station docks&nbsp;to&nbsp;an awaiting LifeFlight helicopter.&nbsp; The man was air lifted to Baptist Hospital&nbsp;where he pronounced deceased.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span></span></p>

<p><b><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">MOBILE, Ala. -- </span></span></b><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">The Coast Guard rescued a man who injured his leg on board a fishing vessel two miles north of Horn Island, Nov. 3, 2009</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">Coast Guard Sector Mobile received the initial call from the captain of the fishing vessel Captain Dennis at approximately 10 a.m. He reported that a man on his vessel had injured his leg and was in need of medical attention.&nbsp; </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">Sector Mobile launched a 25-foot rescue boat and crew from Station Gulfport, Miss., a 41-foot rescue boat from Station Pascagoula, Miss., and an MH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter and crew from Air Station New Orleans to assist.&nbsp; </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">The injured man was transferred to the 41-foot rescue boat and from there was hoisted to the helicopter for medevac.&nbsp; </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">The man was taken to the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport where Emergency Medical Services were standing by.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">The condition of the man is unknown.</span></span></p>

<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;"><b>MOBILE, Ala. </b>&mdash; The missing crewmember from a tugboat that partially sank in Mobile Bay Saturday has been found safe.</span></span></p>
<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">The man was able to make it ashore in a 14-foot skiff and notified a local fire department that he safe. </span></span><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">The vessel was reported to have sunk at approximately 3 a.m., Saturday, leaving its crew of four stranded. A rescue helicopter and crew form Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans located and rescued the other three people aboard the vessel at approximately 5 a.m. Saturday.</span></span></p>
<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></span><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">With all persons aboard the tug safe and accounted for, the Coast Guard has switched to a pollution response stance to ensure the vessel's fuel does not escape into the environment. </span></span></p>
<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">The tug is reported to have approximately 600 gallons of diesel fuel in its fuel tanks. A Coast Guard pollution team and investigators are en route to location of the partially sunk tug to mitigate the impact of any fuel and oil that may leak from the vessel. </span></span></p>
<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">The cause of the incident is under investigation. <br /></span></span></p>

<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;"><b>MOBILE, Ala. </b>&mdash; The Coast Guard has rescued three people after the 70-foot tug boat they were aboard sank in Mobile Bay, Saturday.</span></span></p>
<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a call at approximately 3 a.m. that the Capt. Larry Barkins had partially sank outside of the navigational channel </span></span><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">near the Fowl River with four people aboard. Watchstanders immediately issued an urgent marine information broadcast requesting mariners in the area keep a look out and assist in the search if possible. An MH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans was launched and at approximately 5 a.m., rescued three people who had stayed with the tugboat after it sank. They were taken to Coast Guard Aviation Training Center in Mobile, Ala. </span></span></p>
<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">The survivors stated that the fourth crewmember had gotten in the tug's skiff (a 14-foot white aluminum boat with no engine).&nbsp; <br /></span></span></p>

<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a call from the Carnival cruise ship Holiday at approximately 5:30 p.m. requesting a medevac for a 75-year-old woman, who sustained a cut to her leg. </span></span></p>
<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island, Ala., immediately launched a 25-foot response boat and crew, which brought the woman and her daughter to Station Dauphin Island where Emergency Medical Technicians were standing by to provide further care for the woman and transport her to a local hospital. </span></span></p>

A body was found in the pilot house of vessel, and has been turned over to local authorities for identification and next of kin notifications.</span></span></p>
<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">Coast Guard Sector Mobile received a report at approximately 3:30 p.m. from the captain of the off shore supply vessel Fighting Chicken that a 21-foot recreational vessel had capsized 27 miles south of Petit Bois Island, Miss. Sector Mobile immediately launched the 87-foot Coast Guard Cutter Coho, homeported in Panama City, Fl., an MH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter and crew from Air Station New Orleans, and an &nbsp;HC-144 Ocean Sentry rescue plane and crew from Aviation Training Center, Mobile, Ala. to assist in the search and rescue.&nbsp; </span></span></p>
<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">Four survivors were picked up by the Fighting Chicken and later transferred to the Coho.&nbsp; Two additional survivors were found on a nearby oil rig by the crew of the rescue helicopter and hoisted into the helicopter and taken to Gulfport Regional Airport where local emergency medical services were standing by.&nbsp;</span></span></p>
<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">The rescue helicopter and crew returned to the scene to continue the search for the missing person.</span></span></p>
<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">A Sea Tow vessel with assistance from the Coho, helped right the capsized vessel.&nbsp; A body was found in the pilot house and has been turned over to local authorities for identification and next of kin notifications.<br /></span></span></p>
<p align="left"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times;"><span style="font-size: small;">The condition of those rescued is unknown.</span></span></p>
